In this video, a Youtuber named Heavily Dressed is teaching her viewers how to draft their own pant pattern. She starts by taking their measurements and then drawing a straight line on a piece of paper. She then marks the waistline, hipline, crotch depth, waist to thigh, waist to knee, and waist to ankle measurements. She then connects these marks with straight lines to create the basic shape of the pant pattern. Next, she adds in the inch dart and draws the center line of the pattern. She then connects the thigh and ankle marks with a straight line and marks the center point. She then traces this pattern onto a new piece of paper and adds seam allowance to all sides. For the back pattern, she starts by marking the half mark between the center of the front panel and where she started her pattern. She then moves this line up by an inch and a half and slants down from the waist measurement. She then connects the crotch point, waistline, and center point with a curve and adds an inch to both sides of the front thigh, knee, and ankle measurements. She then closes off the back pattern by connecting these lines and adds seam allowance to the ankle. She then finishes the pattern by cutting out the front and back pieces and lining them up so that the sides match up. In the next episode of the series, she will show her viewers how to add pockets and a zipper fly to their pants.
